Vanessa's Parade Magazine interviews...
Vanessa Hudgens does her own vacuuming. She also washes the dishes and waters the plants--and hates every minute of it. But since the 20-year-old actress and singer moved into her own house a few months ago, she says, "I feel like I need to earn my right to have a home. It's nice to be spoiled, but I want to be able to know that I can do it."
Vanessa Hudgens is ready for the summer sun as she hangs onto a cute parasol on this weekend’s (July 26) cover of Parade magazine.
The 20-year-old actress revealed to the magazine that although she loves her new home in Hollywood Hills, she still sleeps with the television on at night.
Vanessa shared, “It’s weird living by myself. I thought I’d be the person who, every time I hear a little noise, would hide under my bed. But I’ve fallen in love with my home. When I’m in there, I feel safe. I don’t think I’ve gotten scared once–knock on wood–in my house by myself. Then again, I do sleep with the TV on so that I don’t hear all the little clinks and clanks at night!”
Vanessa Hudgens recently caught up with Parade magazine to chat about her upcoming movie, Bandslam.
The 20-year-old actress dished to the mag about biting her tongue, getting her mom, Gina fired and how she really fell in love with acting. Check it:
On getting her mom, Gina, fired from one job: “I got her fired once. I was calling her at work way too much, because I missed her. Back then, I was so shy, I did not want to leave her side. I would call her at work nonstop, to the point where she got fired. It was horrible.”
On how she dealt with life after her nude picture surfaced: “That’s why I’m extremely guarded. I really do try to watch everything I say. Because one little tiny slip, and it’s like the world is coming to an end! It is hard. I do always have a wall up. But I feel by doing it, I keep myself safe. I try to live my life, do what I want, and just let everything else follow along. I try not to read the blogs or what people say about me. Because that’s what brings everybody down—no matter what you do, you’re always going to have haters.”
On how she caught the acting bug: “My parents had Grease lying around, and I watched that and fell in love with it. It was interesting to see people moving stories along with songs—it was exciting and different. West Side Story was one of my favorites. [High School Musical] was the best thing that could and possibly will ever happen to me. I got to make lifelong friends. I had the most incredible time of my life.”
Vanessa’s Parade cover will be in Sunday’s newspapers nationwide this weekend, July 26. Bandslam hits theaters Friday, August 14.
Vanessa Hudgens is the happiest person she knows — and it’s proving to be sickening to some.
The High School Musical actress — who is currently dating her former costar Zac Efron — admits her sunny disposition is not appreciated by everyone but makes no apologies for her happy outlook on life.
“I can’t help it,” she says. “I’m just an extremely happy, giggly, free-spirited, all over the place kind of person.
“I’m laughing all the time and I think that makes most other people happy too. It’s just me.”
Hudgens, 20, recently insisted she’s in no rush to get married.
“I think [marriage and starting a family] is great,” she said, “but I’m so focused on my career right now that it doesn’t really cross my mind.”

Vanessa hates twitter...
Vanessa Hudgens is sick and tired of being impersonated on Twitter.
The High School Musical star — who is currently dating Zac Efron – has no wish to get involved on the social networking site — but she also hates it that someone is pretending to be her and making up ridiculous stories.
“I don’t have a Twitter, somebody is pretending to be me on Twitter, and it makes me mad,” she says. “Apparently somebody who was pretending to be me was saying things like ‘Zac got me a bowling alley.’ And I was like ‘What?’ I just don’t know why, but people are saying crazy things on there.”
Hudgens, 20, recently revealed that she wants to sink her teeth into a “beefy” movie role.
“I am taking it one step at a time — as with everything — but I would love to be able to sink my teeth into something beefy and just cry the entire time,” she said.
“I feel like a drama is always a great thing when you want to challenge yourself and really sink in to something.”
Vanessa Hudgens is coming to the Burlington Mall, and assuming you are not creepy and that you are between the ages of 10 to 18, she'd like you to sing for her.
The "High School Musical" actress -- who stars in the upcoming teen rock flick "Bandslam" -- will be in town Aug. 1 to promote the movie and to hear a live performance by two local finalists who win MAGIC 106.7's "Bandslam" talent competition.
Hudgens will chose one of the two acts and have an up-close-and-personal meet-and-greet with them. You can put yourself in the running by submitting a short audio track to bandslam@magic1067.com. Entries must be e-mailed by 5 p.m. on July 24. No word on whether Vanessa's boyfriend Zac Efron will be joining her at the mall, but on behalf of your children, our fingers are crossed.

Vanessa is too young to get married, she has so much ahead of her...
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens says she's not getting married
anytime soon. Hudgens, who is dating co-star Zac Efron, says that at the moment nothing is on her mind except career.
I think (marriage and starting a family) is great but I'm so focused on my career right now that it doesn't really cross my mind," People magazine quoted Vanessa Hudgens as saying.
Meanwhile, Vanessa is all set to drop her layers for an upcoming movie Sucker Punch. The 20-year-old will play the role of a foul-mouthed prostitute in the film that is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2011.

The girl is 20! Is this interviewer kidding me!!?
A reporter actually asked Vanessa Hugdens if she wanted to marry Zac Efron. The 20-year-old actress, who has been dating her ‘High School Musical’ co-star for around three years, said she rather concentrate on her career and isn’t ready to settle down. Uh... really? Who would have thunk it?
"I think marriage and starting a family is great, but I'm so focused on my career right now that it doesn't really cross my mind."
Although Vanessa appreciates the support she has received from her young ‘High School Musical’ fans, she wants to move on and impress a new generation of moviegoers with “edgier” roles. She added to People magazine:
"The fact that kids look up to me is flattering. But at the end of the day, I want to do R-rated films, and I want to do things that are a bit edgier, so maybe some kids can't see some of them.
"I just think it's really important to try different things. I think a lot of people get stuck doing the same routine, and I'm just not content with that. I love trying new things and doing new hobbies and just exploring life."
Vanessa plays a girl who ends up in a mental institution after being abused by her stepfather in ‘Sucker Punch’. Interesting in seeing the film?
Fans are used to seeing Vanessa Hudgens as squeaky-clean teen Gabriella Montez in Disney’s “High School Musical.”
But soon, moviegoers will get to see a much different side – and possibly much more — of the young actress.
In her upcoming film, “Sucker Punch,” Vanessa won’t be wearing her typical “High School” costumes. In fact, she won’t be wearing very much at all.
“I’m excited I get to be sexy,” she recently told Access Hollywood of the role. The film follows a wrongly institutionalized young woman whose only escape is her own fantasy world she’s dreamt up – most of which exists inside the walls of a brothel.
Vanessa, who plays one of Amanda’s fellow inmates, also appears in the brothel-set dream world as a character named Blondie.
However, the audition didn’t go quite as planned for the actress the first time around. “I was so freaked out by the audition scene, because it was far fetched – it’s set in a brothel! I got so freaked out that I postponed several times,” she told Access. “Then I finally got the courage to go in and do it and I felt great afterwards.”
Bringing some extra “Punch” to the project is director Zack Snyder, whose recent credits include “300” and “Watchmen.”
And while she was nervous for the audition, Vanessa was very much looking forward to the chance of working with Zack.
“It’s a dream of mine to do an action film. I finally get to be a strong sexy woman. It’s going to be great,” she continued. “I can’t wait to shoot some guns!”
No release date has been announced yet for “Sucker Punch,” which also stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung.

Another Sucker Punch article...
How do you reconcile a potentially naked Disney star with a director of extreme violence -- and a PG-13 rating? Director Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen) recently suggested that he might deliver a PG-13 rated film for the first time in his career, but without softening the action of his upcoming Sucker Punch. Now comes word that Disney star Vanessa Hudgens "will strip naked" for her role as a prostitute in the film, according to Metro UK.
Except that she doesn't actually say that. Her actual quoted words are: "I'm playing a character named Blondie and it's set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there's not a whole lot of clothes." From that, the publication surmises that she'll be naked. More likely, she'll be dressed in revealing, sexy outfits that don't show as much as her leaked private photos did (which reportedly showed everything). Unless, of course, Snyder plans to shoot additional footage that can then be released as part of an "unrated" or "director's cut" version for DVD and Blu-ray, while keeping a PG-13 rating in mind for theaters.
Whatever the case, at least this is one bit of casting news for the film that has been nailed down. Hudgens was previously reported to be "in talks." Emily Browning will star alongside Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, and Jamie Chung. Described as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns," Sucker Punch starts production this fall and aims for an October 2010 release date.

'I'm playing a character named Blondie and it's set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there's not a whole lot of clothes.' It's an action role, so she's excited to start training:
'It will be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can't wait. I'm
so excited. I've wanted to do an action film for a while. I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that's the biggest difference.'

Vanessa is possibly suing her previous music producer...
Vanessa Hudgens has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against former music producer Johnny Veira, according to Radar Online. Veira filed a lawsuit against Vanessa earlier this year, and it was settled on April 29.
The new lawsuit claims 'false advertising and appropriation of name and likeness, by using photographs of Vanessa on his company MySpace page, ones that suggest she's an active client.'
Viera is accused of violating their prior settlement agreement and he is banned from 'falsely holding himself out to the public as someone with whom Hudgens is currently signed.'
Vanessa is asking for damages, an injunction to stop Viera from using her name to acquire new business and anything that he might earn in doing so.

Vanessa Hudgens claims she's been double crossed -- and now she's suing her former manager for allegedly breaking the terms of a very secret and very expensive settlement deal.
The High School Musical star just filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court accusing Johnny Viera of violating a court-approved settlement. Vanessa says Johnny broke his promise by making it look like he still represented her on his MySpace page.
Vanessa forked over money to settle Johnny's beef with her back in April -- he had sued her for allegedly stiffing him on commissions.
Vanessa now claims since Viera broke their secret settlement -- she should get her money back. We'll see if the judge agrees.

Peter Krause joins Beastly...
Peter Krause is joining Mary-Kate Olsen and Vanessa Hudgens in "Beastly," CBS' adaptation of the Alex Finn fantasy novel that's currently shooting in Montreal, Variety reports. In the retelling of "Beauty and the Beast," Krause plays the wealthy father of a spoiled teenager (Alex Pettyfer), who pulls a mean prank on a classmate (Olsen), not knowing she's a witch with the power to cast a spell on him in retaliation.
With a cute smile on her face, Vanessa Hudgens dishes a few of her favorite things in the August 2009 issue of InStyle magazine. Check out what the 20-year-old actress had to say:
On feeding her sweet tooth: “Any sour candy: Lemonheads, Sour Skittles, Sour Patch Kids.”
On what she has in her purse: “My Balenciaga wallet, a beanie hat I took from my mom, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, iPhone headphones and two pairs of sunglasses — Diesel and Ray-Ban aviators.”
On her fall back career: “I’d be in fashion. When I was young, I liked to go to fabric stores, buy material and sew.”
On her BFF of the moment: “Brittany Snow. Zac [Efron] worked with her on Hairspray — we’ve been hanging out a lot.”
On her guilty pleasure: “Manicures and pedicures. My friends and I go to a place near my house that gives great massages too.”
Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the long wait, I just got a new puppy and it's a lot of work especially with her being so small compared to my other dog and we have to be very careful. Like her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens is getting out of the business of making musicals. Right now, she wants to focus on acting. She told MTV, “I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart. At the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films.”
Vanessa is currently filming her first role that is not in a musical in the film Beastly, a retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast story that is set to open in 2010. Like Efron, Hudgens would like to distance herself from musicals to avoid being typecast and limiting her career.
So far that doesn’t appear to be a problem, as she recently took a role in the upcoming Zack Snyder film Sucker Punch. Snyder is famous as the director of the movie 300. Hudgens is thrilled to be able to work with Snyder, telling MTV, “It’s an honor, I’m such a big fan of his work.”
Sucker Punch is the story of a girl whose abusive stepfather institutionalizes her. To survive, she retreats into a fantasy world, where she eventually comes up with a plan of escape.
Vanessa will be heading from Montreal to Vancouver very soon to start filming on her next movie, Sucker Punch.
Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder recently dished to MTV that he was surprised by her audition. He shared, “She rehearsed, she did the audition for the scene. I wasn’t sure at first – [the casting people] were like ‘Oh, Vanessa’s coming’ and I was ‘Oh, okay - that sounds cool’ but I didn’t know what to think. Then I saw the tape and I literally went, ‘Wow, she’s good. She’s really good.’ Then I talked to her about what she’d have to do.”
He continued, “You’re going to see her shooting machine guns, fighting…we sat her down for her physical evaluation, and she was really athletic. It’ll allow her to stretch herself and do whatever she wants, and not be too exposed by the movie - but also, on the other hand, do things that people have never seen her do.”
Sucker Punch, also starring Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish, is set to hit theaters in 2010!
